Aryaka have announced that TÜV Rheinland, specialists in product quality assurance and testing, have deployed Aryaka’s SD-WAN as a service to upgrade and connect more than 20 office locations worldwide, as part of its digital transformation strategy.

As its business expanded through the Middle East and Asia, TÜV Rheinland began to experience longer lead times and higher costs for deploying MPLS links to new office locations. At the same time, as the company began to execute its cloud migration strategy, it was apparent that TÜV Rheinland needed to find a global network alternative that would provide faster and more efficient access to business-critical applications, compared to MPLS or the public internet.

“With nearly 80 per cent of our WAN traffic used for cloud and SaaS applications, we needed to look at an SD-WAN solution,” said Shin Sterneck, head of global network and telecommunication services at TÜV Rheinland: “What’s more is that when we attempted to open new locations in remote geographies across the Middle East, China and India, we began to experience poor customer service, longer lead times and higher costs from the MPLS providers in charge of servicing those sites.”

Upon launching the proof of concept with Aryaka, TÜV Rheinland was able to deploy four new locations throughout various parts of Europe and Asia in just a matter of days. As a result, the company saw their application performance speeds increase by 10x. “For us, the Aryaka solution contributes greatly to the hybridisation of our global network and is one of the milestones in our digitisation strategy; not least because of the security aspects and speed with which we are able to serve our customers,” reported Ruediger Hoppen, global officer of IT infrastructure at TÜV Rheinland.

“Global enterprises, catering to clients across multiple industry verticals, understand how critical a managed, application-optimised network is for exceeding customer expectations,” said Ashwath Nagaraj, chief technology officer at Aryaka: “We’re delighted to participate in the continued growth of TÜV Rheinland as a leader in product safety testing and certification.”
