National Electronics Week 2013 is taking the show on the road by hosting the event at three different locations across the UK, starting off in Manchester

In a completely new format for 2013 National Electronics Week exhibition, previously held at The NEC Birmingham is literally taking the show on the road by hosting the event at three different regional locations across the UK.

Starting off on the 20th – 21st March in the North West at Event City Manchester, the show will then continue on to Scotland at The Royal Highland Centre adjacent to Edinburgh Airport from 1st – 2nd May and will finish in the South West at University of West England in Bristol from 25th – 26th September 2013.

NEW at Manchester’s Event City, will offer key seminar programmes, networking opportunities and 50 exhibitors showcasing their products and expertise.

Supported by Manchester Chamber of Commerce, MIDAS and collocated with CHP Renewable roadshow and conference the event will target key businesses and deliver a strong, targeted visitor audience.

Chris Fletcher, Deputy Chief Executive of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: “The Chamber is delighted that the NEW Road Show is coming to Manchester this year.

“The fact Manchester has been chosen reflects the major role the North West plays in the UK’s electronic manufacturing industry and confirms the city’s position as a leading venue for major events.”

NEW show format proposed

Event Director Claire Saunders said: “Our North West event kicks off a new direction for the UK electronics and embedded industry, for many years there has always been one National event – however our industry has changed over the years, time constraints are more visible and people cannot always make it to the National venue every year.

“By offering regional events every other year we are allowing our exhibitors to interact with industry in a local arena, and when we return to the larger National event in 2014 there will be more to see, new innovations, products, live demonstrations and a fresher feel – making it more of a must attend event.

“These regional events offer companies the chance to interact in a more relaxed environment as all stands are the same size and all are a shell scheme build therefore providing an element of equality amongst exhibitors on the show floor,”

“I’m sure many of our members will make valuable contacts at this event and I urge businesses to attend,” Saunders concluded.

Over the one and a half day events there will be a series of seminars and workshops running in support of the region of each location. Companies such as Spirit Circuits will be holding  seminars on The Requirements of PCB’s in solar & LED Applications at NEW Manchester.

Stuart Clark of Protronix EMS will be giving a seminar about the importance of production grade prototypes, FAST-EST prototyping and creating value from prototypes.

Whilst Wurth Electronik will be demonstrating its components guide software, advising the quickest way through to component selection, based upon application and criteria.

By selecting from the company’s guide to components, users will be able to compare and contrast the operation, characteristics and specifications of different series of components.

The software allows the designer to do many tasks from selecting the right chip bead ferrite from 2500 part numbers through to designing and implementing a full DC/DC convertor as a power module.

Densitron is also participating at the NEW Regional Seminars. The company will focus on its RipDraw Suite- GUI Designs for TFT Display Projects, Optical Bonding Services- Engineered Custom Solution for TFT and OLED Displays, along with a focus exploring E-paper displays for retaining an image with no power.

DEK Printing, Electro Rent, Polar Instruments, Ecopac Power, AEL Crystals, Powersolve, Nutek, CC Electronics and many more are also attending.

ESCN (Electronic components supply network) will be supporting a drinks reception on the first evening at each event to help encourage more buyers of the future to attend the event.
