The latest generation of connectors has been added by Bulgin to the company’s existing rugged Buccaneer range of devices, enabling greater flexibility in systems design.
The new range is the Buccaneer 6000 Series of waterproof power, signal and data connectors that has been developed by Elektron Technology and features a specific design that is claimed to be much easier to use, with a pushpull locking system. This is said to connect up to ten times faster than a traditional screw thread mechanism.
This latest addition to the company’s connector series is designed to withstand the harshest environments and meets IP66, IP68 and IP69K standards.
Specs include data (USB or Ethernet), signal and power versions up to 16A, 277V and they are available in fully interchangeable metal and plastic constructions.
The body mouldings and pin carriers have a design that creates a robust interface in a manner that avoids damage during coupling. This helps to ensure a correctly sealed connection – even when access is restricted.
Stuart Hutchings, Marketing Manager for Bulgin, advises: “Elektron’s innovative design team has made a significant breakthrough with the introduction of the Buccaneer 6000 Series of connectors, giving a robust, fully waterproof and fast connection in a range of challenging environments. This makes these adaptable connectors ideal for a wide range of applications, from industrial automation to food processing.”
John Wilson, CEO of Elektron Technology added: “This is a triumph for Elektron Technology’s investment in innovation and our product development team, delivering cleverly engineered, well-designed products in response to clear market needs. I expect these new connectors to be in great demand for a wide range of potential applications. These connectors are our easiest yet to use and they look good too.”
The devices have are available on a global basis through the Bulgin distribution network.
