PEI-Genesis, one of the world’s fastest assemblers of precision connectors and cable assemblies, will open a new 54,000-square foot production facility in China. The facility will be fully operational May 1st. The expansion into China is part of the company’s long-term strategic plan to move into new geographic areas.
The facility, in Zhuhai, will use the same proprietary automation, the same process flow, and the same software used in the company’s two facilities in the U.S. and the UK, filling a critical need in the Chinese market for high-mix, low volume configured connectors.
“Creating a mirrored facility enables us to better train our Chinese team, and assemble and ship custom connectors in 48-hours with flawless quality, just as we do in the North America and Europe,” said Russ Dorwart, PEI-Genesis president and COO. “China is the fastest growing market in the world for our products. Our suppliers, and our customers, tell us that there is no one in China focused on high-mix, low-volume production, which is our strength. We foresee a powerful partnership with our suppliers and nearly unlimited opportunity for growth in the years ahead.”
The company’s initial focus will be on the Rail-Mass Transit, Commercial Air, Oil and Gas, Solar and Industrial markets.

The sales team and all operational staff are already in place, preparing the factory to service customers in China with the same speed and exceptional service customers have come to expect from PEI in North America and Europe.
