A new series of thermistor temperature sensors that function across a wide resistance range of 5K Ohms to 200K Ohms at 25°C are now available from Measurement Specialties.

The company advises its DO-35 Series are glass-packaged thermistors that help enable stable measurement in a wide range of extremely difficult environments, while protecting the ceramic sensing element for long-term reliability and high performance.

The company highlights, design features of the new devices include an NTC (negative temperature coefficient) chip that is encased in a hermetically-sealed tube (DO-35 diode glass package) that can reduce environmental stresses and prevent moisture ingress to the sensing element.  The devices are aimed at consumer electronics devices and air conditioning units as well as in PCB temperature sensing and low cost probe assemblies.

Feature benefits are said to include 24 AWG tin and nickel plated copper leads that operate over a temperature range of -40°C to 300°C.  The RoHs-compliant thermistor can also be PCB mounted.
