A new CFDA recently released by Infineon Technologies will be available for demonstration at the company’s stand.

The device is considered an ‘industry first’ Superjunction MOSFET solution that features an integrated fast body diode. This aspect has been added in order to enable the device to meet the highest automotive qualification standard, which is: AEC-Q101.

The 650V CoolMOS CFDA is designed in particular for resonant topologies such as battery charging, DC/DC converters and HID (High Intensity Discharge) Lighting, also in hybrid and electric vehicles.

The new solution combines the benefits of fast switching Superjunction MOSFETs including: better light load efficiency, reduced gate charge, lower switching losses, easy implementation as well as  reliability and robustness.

A lower value of Qrr  and Qoss at repetitive computation on the diode body reduces switching losses and turns the on/off delay times.
