Murata has announced an upcoming collaboration with Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, to develop the Type 1LV (CYW43012) modular solution for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth applications, with controlled power usage and faster data transference capabilities.

Based on the Cypress CYW43012 combo chipset, the Type 1LV provides data transference rates of up to 78Mbps on Wi-Fi and 3Mbps on Bluetooth, supporting processors such as PS0C6, i.MX Rt and IP Camera platforms, as well as Linux and RTOS based applications.

Using sophisticated hardware mechanisms and algorithms, the Type 1LV is optimised for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth coexistence, operating in dual-band networks but maintaining a focus on security, so as to enhance performance in Wi-FI 5 networks, for example. Due to the quick nature of data transference, reduction of risk through a secure output of data on dual-band networks, is fitting for the current state of the IoT market.

“The Cypress CYW43012 combo solution continues its forward momentum in the market,” says Brian Bedrosian, vice president of marketing for the IoT Compute and Wireless Business Unit at Cypress, “Our collaboration with Murata in integrating the CYW43012 delivers a compact, pre-tested solution that delivers high performance, long battery-life IoT solutions in applications including cameras, music, healthcare and security.”
