The element14 electronic design community has announced the ‘Dream Sensor Board’ campaign, with its plan to give its members the chance to design exactly that: their dream sensor board. Molex, supplier of connectors and interconnect components, aims to review the feedback and subsequently bring together the crowdsourced sensor board.

“Our community is on the front line of product development every day and is the ideal audience to provide feedback on new components like sensor boards,” said Dianne Kibbey, global head of community and social media for the element14 community: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Molex to offer our community members the chance for their voices to be heard, and ultimately use their dream sensor board in future designs.”

“As a result of this strategy, we are moving forward to develop plug-and-play, multi-function sensor modules,” said Patrick Killian, solutions director of the power and signal business unit, Molex: “We are looking forward to engaging with element14’s engineering community. Jointly, we plan to define the combination of sensors that will be most valuable for environmental and/or mechanical applications.”
