The Fortronic LED & Lighting Design Forum held at Williams F1 Conference Centre in March received over 140 attendees, with 90 percent visiting for the first time. The range of visitors included top industry executive from design engineers to OEMs and Managing Directors.

Tony Armstrong, Director of Product Marketing of Power at Linear Technology Inc, flew in from the USA to open the technical Forum delivering a presentation highlighting important factors that need to be considered when designing a Power LED light.

Applications Manager SSL from Osram Optosemiconductor followed with a detailed overview of Design Considerations for High Power LEDs, along with many other informative and stimulating presentations that ran throughout the day.

Despite all odds, we delivered our most successful event to date, clearly demonstrating that conventional or traditional exhibitions and trade shows are becoming somewhat outdated and are being overtaken with focused events like these forums. The key to the success of these events is to carefully select both sponsors and attendees, it’s like match making if you like, and it works,” said Harvey Osborn, Marketing Director at Motiv8.

Participants commented that they found: “the speakers in the morning very good and the afternoon workshops excellent – coming away having learnt a lot.”

Other comments included: “The whole event was superbly organised and all of the seminars and workshops were very well presented, extremely informative and of very great interest and relevance to companies who Design and Manufacture, here in the UK.”

The next event in the series orgainsed by Motiv8 is the RF & Wireless Event being held on 25th June. To register visit: www.fortronicuk.com
