ADAS. Infotainment systems. Telematics. All part of the overarching wave of automotive technology heading straight for us. The systems powering these technologies are begging for extensions to their capabilities. Among developments in this area, Kioxia has its own solution: a 512GB universal flash storage (UFS) memory solution, supporting a temperature range of -40 to +105 degrees Celsius and meeting AEC-Q100 Grade 2 requirements.
Further to this, it integrates Kioxia’s BiCS Flash 3D memory and controller in one package, as seen in the attached image: with additional functions such as thermal control and extended diagnosis, this is well suited to the aforementioned applications such as ADAS and telematics, as the vehicle conducts great heat and demands high data processing as it moves through the user’s day-to-day business with haste. Perhaps there’s room for an even bigger push for UFS’ storage capabilities in the future.
