Two new high-capacity memory solutions aimed at the embedded and network infrastructure storage markets were presented by Viking Modular Solutions. The Very Low Profile (VLP) Mini Registered DIMM and the 32GB Single Layer Cell (SLC) compact flash modular devices are suitable for dense system designs.

The company’s DDR3 4GB delivers a high density JEDEC compliant 244-pin VLP MiniRDIMM, ideal for applications that are suited for demanding environmental conditions including blade servers, storage bridge bay (SBB) and a variety of embedded computing systems. The memory devices offer key features critical to the embedded and network infrastructure markets, including small form factor with excellent signal integrity, industrial temperature with thermal management, extended testing and JEDEC compliance.

The 32GB SLC CompactFlash (CF) device offers high reliability, high endurance flash storage in a 1-inch form factor. This solution allows capacity requirements previously only achieved through larger form factor Hard Disk Drives (HDDs). The shift from HDDs to high capacity CF will greatly reduce energy consumption and footprint.
