A new range of fibre-optic transceivers has been developed by Harting. These devices are suitable for industrial applications as they integrate electro-optical converters in small-form factor (SFF and SFP) packages and are also integrated  with the company’s PushPull connector technology.

The new devices have been developed for the demands of high-reliability optical communication devices as they are able to withstand the harsh environmental conditions and vibration encountered in industrial applications. To simplify use, they are designed to offer easy handling and installation.

The transceivers are based on the company’s overmoulded PushPull cable assemblies with LC duplex mating faces, and offer IP 65/67 protection and ease of handling. The PushPull cable allows fibre-optic devices to be added to existing solutions, such as I/O boxes, camera systems or industrial controllers. The transceiver module can be equipped with any SFF/SFP transceivers, and can be connected to the base plate via the company’s har-flex connectors.

The company has worked with leading customers from the industrial automation sector to develop concept. It will also produce customer-specific versions to meet individual requirements.
