A certificate in management program has been launched by ECSN (the Electronic Components Supply Network) in partnership with Aston Business School’s Centre for Executive Development, for its executive membership.

The key objectives of the new  program are to develop management competence and knowledge that will enable participants to operate successfully in the electronic components supply business and in the process, introduce them to new and proven business thinking, frameworks and models.

This will allow participants to explore different management approaches individually.

The ECSN sees Aston as having the experience and expertise necessary to support the development of the key management skills that will blend with scientific skills to develop competent and confident electronics business professionals.

According to ECSN chairman Adam Fletcher, the electronic components industry is a highly technical environment requiring clearly developed skills and expertise in the technical disciplines but success is not wholly achieved through technical excellence: “An organisation’s success also relies on the management expertise to bring a product to market and lead a commercially successful business, which involves proficiency in the key management disciplines,” Fletcher said.

“Accordingly we saw the need for a comprehensive program for members: to create, develop and promote the executive management skills necessary to develop the successful industry leaders of the future”.
