A new distribution agreement will enable Digi-Key Corporation to distribute IPDiA products worldwide. IPDiA, founded in 2009 as an offshoot from NXP and provides innovative 3D silicon sub-mounts, 3D silicon RF, and 3D silicon capacitor products.
“High reliability and stability capacitors are in great demand for medical, aeronautics, avionics, automotive, and military applications. IPDiA’s innovative design is ideally placed to serve this area of growth,” said Tom Busher, Vice President, Global Interconnect, Passives, and Electromechanical Product at Digi-Key. “IPDiA’s rugged product provides a unique dimension to our line card and we are pleased to enter into this partnership.”
The technology developed by the silicon specialist is described as an efficient way of integrating tens or even hundreds of passive components. Moreover, the performance resulting from this technology is claimed to exceed that of traditional MLCCs. Features of these devices include low profile, high stability, derating resistance, low failure rate, and high temperature operating range. Applications for these innovative devices are myriad, including medical, aerospace, and automotive markets.
“Unique products such as our high density silicon capacitors or silicon filtering networks find tremendous exposure on Digi-Key’s website, making it very easy for the design engineers to find our products,” stated Michael Heise, Vice President of Business Development at IPDiA.
