ARBOR Technology (UK), a provider of embedded computing solutions, has announced an addition to its extended-temperature box PCs range, with the launch of the ARES-5300 programmable embedded controller. The ARES-5300 features a fanless, cable free, modular design and is built around the power-efficient Intel Celeron J1900 quad-core SoC processor. With superb protection from shock and vibration and a wide operating temperature of -22 ~ 140ºF, the ARES-5300 is ideally suited for use in the harsh environments such as those experienced in the oil and gas industries or within the modern factory.

The low-profile ARES-5300 is specifically designed for reliable operation under all conditions. The product features a wide range DC power input (9~36V), making it immune to power fluctuations. Other features include an mSATA socket, an outside-accessible CFast slot for faster control data, four external USB Type A connectors, one internal USB Type A connector for easy connection, as well as two RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports.

The ARES-5300 is easy to install and maintain. The DIN Rail mounting kit allows 90 degree rotation, leaving all I/O ports easily accessible. In addition to its fanless, cableless and modularised design, the compact ARES-5300 measures just 70mm in depth and employs lightweight but strong aluminum alloy construction.

The ARES-5300 meets international standards such as CE, FCC Class A and UL 508
