A fast, high-performance PXIe controller has been released by Agilent Technologies Inc. The controller features a 12GB maximum data bandwidth that is able to handle complex or multi-chassis systems and secure environments. Its CPU processing speed and a front-panel removable 240GB solid-state drive  is ideal for aerospacedefense, RF, semiconductor, wireless communications, general-purpose, electronic functional test, or virtually any PXIe modular test system application.

The company advises its M9037A controller’s 12GB/s data bandwidth from the CPU to the PXIe backplane switch is achieved using the PCIe with a potential of up to 24PCIe lanes. Based on Intel’s i7-4700EQ extended life processor, this device is able to provide fast CPU computational measurements. It offers a front panel x8 PCIe high-bandwidth connection to external PCIe devices, such as a second PXIe chassis or a RAID storage device, providing a unique alternative to using a valuable PXIe instrument slot.

By incorporating the fastest processor available, we are accelerating our customers’ application capabilities and allowing them to easily connect to multiple chassis, external storage devices, and other modular and LXI instruments.

“This results in improvements in throughput and cost savings,” said Agilent’s Mark Pierpoint, Vice President and General Manager of the Software and Modular Solutions division.
