To provide a simpler much easier-to-use interface, new user-friendly functionality has been added by IAR Systems to its development tools for Renesas Electronics’ R32C and 78K MCUs.

The updates include a new editor and source browser, which enable features such as auto-completion, code folding, block selection, block indentation, bracket matching, and zooming.

The latest version of the company’s Embedded Workbench  also adds integration with the version control system Subversion. This update allows users to perform Subversion commands from within the company’s Embedded Workbench IDE, and to see the current status of project files and folders.

The availability of integrated version control systems within the IDE can greatly simplify the development process by enabling developers to share files in a project and keep track of source code versions.

The Embedded Workbench has a very effective C/C++ compiler and comprehensive debugger in a user-friendly integrated development environment (IDE).
